Organic & conventional vegetables

A career in the vegetable-growing industry is waiting for you at Bunny Farm.

Bunny Farm has a long, proud history in the Maskoutaine region, an area with nutrient-rich soil that’s perfect for vegetables. We own 291 hectares of land, 265 of which are in use. We also rent an additional 170 hectares in the surrounding area, giving us a total area of 461 hectares.

Agronomist / Production manager

Responsibilities

  • Help design and carry out business plans for developing our clients’ agricultural businesses
  • Analyze client financial statements and assess their financial situation.
  • Help develop assumptions and prepare budgets
  • Help determine cost prices for client businesses
  • Help issue recommendations
  • Build trusted relationships with clients
  • Develop relationships with various stakeholders in the farming industry
  • Collaborate and carry out any other mandates that are within the scope of the job
  • Represent the business during various training events and other occasions

Professional experience and expertise

  • Be a member of the Ordre des agronomes du Québec
  • Have a good understanding of Quebec’s farming and agri-food industry, as well as the challenges faced by this industry
  • Show interest in helping the business grow
  • Have experience in analysis, design, management and project implementation

Requirements and working conditions

  • Must be able to work as a team, and develop and maintain relationships with both clients and partners.
  • Must be well-organized and good at planning
  • Able to work on several tasks and files at once
  • Experience with financing an asset
  • Good understanding of computer platforms
  • Good understanding of MS Windows environment and Office software, as well as the web-based environment
  • Good communication skills with an emphasis on customer service and finding solutions
  • Able to travel occasionally (Quebec)

Field labourer

Responsibilities

This employee is responsible for picking strawberries. They will pick berries that are ripe and of good quality, then place them in containers.

Requirements and working conditions

  • Education required: No degree required.
  • Work experience an asset.
  • Must be able to handle loads from 5 to 20 kg.
  • Manual dexterity and capacity for repetitive tasks required.
  • Must be able to work outside in varying weather conditions, in a crouched position.

  • Schedule: from around 5:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
  • Lodging available on the premises
  • Duration of employment: around 1 month
  • Expected start date: July 7 (to be confirmed by grower).

Sales

Responsibilities

The employee will follow up with suppliers for major grocery chains. They must also meet performance goals and stick to the schedule.

Requirements and working conditions

  • College diploma (DEC)
  • Bilingual
  • Work experience an asset
  • Must have knowledge of the vegetable growing industry, and show resourcefulness and common sense.

Forklift driver

Responsibilities

The employee will operate the forklift in a safe and lawful manner. The employee must be attentive and aware of their machine. They will move crates of fresh vegetables onto our delivery trucks.

  • Must be able to handle loads of 5 to 20 kg.
